Mookite Jasper
with Gyan mudra hand Mala
Malas — also known as yoga prayer beads or japamalas — are necklaces that usually have 108 beads. Mala, Sanskrit for “garland,” is often used to enhance spiritual practice.
You may see people use malas while practicing yoga, as a meditation object, to pray a mantra or sacred word. This mala is designed so you can meditate sliding and counting the 108 beads.
Gyan mudra, otherwise known as chin mudra, is a sacred hand gesture or ‘seal’ used to direct energy and maintain focus. Gyan mudra is one of the most important and well known mudras, found across Buddhist, Hindu and Yoga traditions alike. Gyan is Sanskrit for ‘knowledge’ or ‘wisdom,’ and so this gesture is sometimes referred to as the Mudra of Knowledge.
